ONE Championship is officially set to return to the United States with a blockbuster event in Denver, Colorado. The promotion announced that Stamp Fairtex and Denice Zamboanga will headline ONE 173: Denver in an atomweight unification bout, marking ONE’s first U.S. event since 2023.
After an extended wait, ONE’s highly anticipated return to American soil will take place on August 1 at Ball Arena, home to the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. This marks the third U.S. event in ONE’s history, following its successful debut at ONE Fight Night 10 and last year’s ONE 168 card.
ONE Chairman & CEO Chatri Sityodtong officially confirmed the news, highlighting the magnitude of the headlining title fight. “Stamp Fairtex and Denice Zamboanga, former training partners turned rivals, will step into the Circle for one of the most anticipated bouts of the year,” Sityodtong said.
Zamboanga enters this fight riding a four-fight win streak, most recently capturing the interim atomweight title with a dominant finish over Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27. She sees this moment as more than just a title opportunity. “This is a dream come true for me,” she said. “Representing the Philippines on such a massive stage fills me with pride.”
Stamp, on the other hand, hasn’t competed since 2023 due to a knee injury that forced her out of a scheduled matchup with Zamboanga last year. Now fully recovered, the reigning atomweight queen is eager to put on a show in front of the Denver crowd. “I was supposed to face Denice last year, but unfortunately, I got injured,” she explained. “Now, we finally get to fight for the belt. I was blown away by the support I received from my U.S. fans last time, and I can’t wait to put on a show for them again.”
With the main event now locked in, ONE Championship is expected to announce more high-profile matchups for ONE 173 in the coming weeks.
