Paul Hughes Set to Headline PFL Europe Belfast in May

Paul Hughes will get the chance to fight in front of his home crowd as he headlines PFL Europe Belfast on May 10. The Irish standout is eager to bounce back from his last outing and put on a show for the local fans.

Hughes (13-2) suffered a tough majority decision loss to Usman Nurmagomedov in January when he challenged for the Bellator lightweight title at “PFL Champions Series 1.” The defeat ended his seven-fight winning streak, which featured notable victories over A.J. McKee and Bobby King. Now, the 27-year-old is focused on getting back in the win column.

“All my career, I’ve said I will main event The SSE Arena, and we’ve made my dream into a reality,” Hughes said. “Belfast, I’m coming to put on a show for my people, and I will show you how much your support means to me. It’s time to get to work.”

PFL Europe Belfast will be a key event in the promotion’s European expansion, featuring the first tournament fights of 2025. The rest of the fight card and Hughes' opponent are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
